So here’s a little secret about me—I’ve always been a sucker for a good celebration. Give me music, food, and people laughing together, and I’m home. Cape Coral has that magic baked right into the pavement. You know the kind of night where you’re walking downtown and you can hear the bass before you see the stage? Where someone’s selling pineapple drinks out of actual pineapples and kids are running around sticky and happy? That’s the stuff I live for. Return to my Cape Coral Blog homepage for more info about me.
There used to be this big thing here every year, and the streets would just bloom with life. Families, abuelas, teenagers who thought they were too cool to dance (but still did), and everybody in between. I swear, you could smell arepas and barbecue colliding in the air, and somehow it worked.
A little inspiration
I think that’s why I started writing here. Not to give you a play-by-play or to act like I’m the official spokesperson for Cape Coral. Nope. It’s way simpler: I didn’t want that feeling to fade. The energy, the culture, the sense that everyone—literally everyone—belonged there together.
I love love love the way this city makes you feel like you’re part of something, whether you’re salsa dancing in the street or just standing in line for a gyro. That’s the heart of it.
Keeping the fiesta alive
So yeah, times change. Events come and go. But the spirit? That stays. And this little corner of the internet is my way of holding onto it. Think of it like the afterparty that never ends. I’ll be here, sharing stories, flavors, songs, and silly little moments that make Cape Coral what it is: fun, loud, warm, and sometimes messy, but always, always worth celebrating.
Now excuse me while I go hum a salsa tune and maybe dig up a recipe that tastes like home.
